Welcome to Oaklyn Alpacas where we have been breeding alpacas since May 2006 when we bought 3 females to keep the grass down after reading about how easy they were to keep and how friendly they are and also that you can harvest their fibre and produce wonderful things. We discovered all the rumours were true and our herd soon grew. Alpaca fibre is warmer than wool, softer than cashmere, lightweight and long lasting.
It is our intention to concentrate on breeding like colours together using the best quality studs we can, whenever possible, in order to improve the fleece and conformation of our herd. This aim has already reaped rewards when at our very first ever competition we won Best Black Female in Britain at the British Alpaca Futurity 2009 with Oaklyn Curly Shirley.
Anyone interested in alpacas can have a look at my ‘About Alpacas’ page and if they have any other questions are welcome to contact me and I will do my best to answer their query. If I don't know the answer I'm sure I know somebody who does. Oaklyn Alpacas is located in Cheshire in the north west of England which makes us within easy access to the whole country, and visitors are always welcome to come and see us.
